AWS SNS Pending Origination Phone Number

So over the last week we've been working on setting up a text message service for a client, using AWS Lightsail as the host. Such functionality should be easy-peasy, but hang on just a moment, no where in the documentation, that I can find, does AWS mention that it can take up to 15 days to activate a toll free phone number as the origination source. I eventually discovered this little tid-bit on an obscure corner of the SNS site, after hours of searching. This is important insight, info you'd think would be front and center when installing SNS functionality, but alas no.
